About Us
History
People for Community Improvement (PCI) is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1986, for the purpose of increasing food security by reducing the number of families in need of emergency food.
PCI has since expanded services to include specialized programs and activities for local community youth. Over the past five years, PCI has designed youth programs to address leadership development, social and life skills, academic success, violence prevention, and gang prevention. Our programs are structured around social responsibility and personal accountability, and include a strong emphasis on academic development.
Mission
Our mission is to provide resources and solutions to improve the quality of life in urban communities. Our goal is to instill purpose in our youth to help them recognize their full potential, introduce them to positive outlets, and teach them to give back.
